"First steps to composition through pictures" is a series of twenty graded picture aimed to help young learners to develop correct sentence structures through picture stories. This technique will gradually guide them from controlled to free composition writing. Picture stories stimulate pupils` imagination and enlive their interest and participation. Beginners should start with simple descriptive and narrative drills where the grammatical structures relating to a picture story are controlled and thoroughly practiced. The function of each story is to initiate discussion before writing. The language material has been carefully selected to meet the pupils` needs by supplying them with communicative, creative and enjoyable activities.
